About Us

Chattanooga native, Linda Underwood, moved to Knoxville in 1970 to attend the University of Tennessee and she has called Knoxville home ever since. She opened her first store, Linda’s Hallmark 34 years ago when The Gallery Shopping Center was first built. Prior to becoming a retailer, she worked in commercial property management and leasing.

“Having my own card and gift shop was like a dream-come-true because I personally enjoyed shopping for stationery, cards and gifts. In early 1984 when The Gallery was being built, the shopping center owner and developer called to ask if I would be interested in helping his company with the leasing and management of this new project. A light came on in my head and I just knew The Gallery would be a great location for the store of my dreams.”

“Since day one, my husband Al has been my rock, my cheerleader, my consultant and my helper,” says Underwood. “There’s no way I could have done it without him.”

Linda’s Hallmark has been warmly embraced by Knoxvillians and when an opportunity arose in the summer of 2011, Linda opened her newest location in the Village Green Shopping Center in Farragut. The two Linda’s Hallmark locations, only 8 miles apart on Kingston Pike, are not your ordinary Hallmark stores, offering a wide variety of Hallmark greeting cards, gifts, collectibles and personalized stationery options.

Said Underwood, “Building a successful retail business takes time as well as good personnel. I am grateful for my hardworking staff. They are on the front line with the customers, giving each person who walks into Linda’s Hallmark a positive, personalized and memorable shopping experience. Knoxville shoppers have many, many choices for places they can shop for cards and gifts and I tell my staff we are so lucky when a customer makes Linda’s Hallmark his or her shopping destination.”

Miss Sassy is our store mascot and Linda’s sweet 6 year old yorkie.  You can spot her in our Farragut location from time to time doing photo shoots for our facebook page.
